Our Work

CCMC works to empower diverse and underrepresented communities to participate more fully in decisions about their lives. We believe collaboration among nonprofit groups sharing policy goals is an effective and efficient way to gain credibility and to influence public policy.

  • Equality 2020

Equality 2020 promotes full equality for women and girls worldwide. Our goal is to increase the visibility of policy debates that affect the lives of women and girls, and to increase the U.S. commitment to advance women’s rights at home and abroad.

  • Agenda for Sustainable Development 2030

Global Population, Health and Development 2020 seeks broad improvements in reproductive health worldwide through increasing access to services, promoting policy changes, mobilizing resources and empowering women and their families. The year 2014 is the 20th anniversary of the Program of Action agreed upon at the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development. And 2015 is the 20th anniversary of the Beijing Women’s Conference, which introduced the phrase “women’s rights are human rights” to a worldwide audience as part of its Platform of Action. Finally, 2015 is the target date for achieving the Millennium Development Goals adopted in 2000. These agreements guide our work, especially as the United Nations is engaged in the post-2015 development framework process.
